Penn State is not only among the top teams in the nation athletically, but also academically. The Nittany Lions consistently produce one of the highest team grade point averages in the country, while also racking up several of the highest individual gpas. Since joining the league for the 1992 season, the Nittany Lions have had 52 student-athletes earn 130 Academic All-Big Ten honors, including five in 2011. In addition, former Nittany Lion Brandi Personett was a ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-America honoree in 2010.
